Vickie Leighton, a native of Washington, is a subject matter expert in enterprise risk management. Ms Leighton currently works for the Chief Risk Officer heading up Enterprise Risk Management that includes Global Risk and Insurance, Business Continuity Management, Client Data Protection, and Avanade Asset Protection.
Ms Leighton has been involved firsthand with many disasters over the years, and she has consulted with and trained hundreds of personnel in business continuity and emergency operations in the public and private sector globally. She has participated as speaker in conferences globally and higher education such as the University of Washington. She has written various types of assessments, analyses, and plans for government and industry and also has participated in and written plans for tabletop, functional and full-scale exercises.
Ms Leighton holds a Bachelor of Science degree from Central Washington University and Medical Assistant degree from the Puget Sound Institute of Technology. She is Business Continuity Institute (BCI) certified (CBCI) with AMBCI designation. She participates in the following committees: Committee member for the RIMS Western Regional Conf to be held in Seattle September 2009, ASIS BCM National Standards Technical Committee, and ASIS Workplace Violence Technical Committee.
